Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-05
This Privacy Policy explains how Loveter ("we", "our", "the app") handles information when you use our iOS application and this website (loveter.app). We built Loveter to work without collecting your personal data, and this policy reflects that.
1. What data Loveter collects
Loveter stores the names and the date you enter (e.g. an anniversary or wedding date), along with your chosen theme and settings, locally on your device. This data is not automatically transmitted to us, to any server, or to any third party. Loveter does not require an account, an email address, or a phone number to function.
2. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising
The Loveter app and this website do not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, tracking pixels, or third-party trackers of any kind. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell data, because we do not collect any to sell.
3. Shareable counter links (loveter.app/c)
If you choose to create a shareable counter link, the names, date, time zone, theme and label you select are encoded directly into that link's URL so the page can render your counter — they are not stored in a database on our servers. Anyone who receives the link can view the counter it describes, so only share it with people you're comfortable seeing that information. We log standard, anonymized web server access logs (e.g. for security and abuse prevention) for a limited retention period, as described in Section 6.
4. Local device storage
All of your Loveter data — names, dates, theme choices, widget configuration — lives in local storage on your iPhone, protected by iOS's standard app sandboxing and, where applicable, iCloud's end-to-end or transport encryption if you use Apple's own backup and sync features. Uninstalling the app removes this data from your device.
5. Future optional cloud sync (not active yet)
We are considering an optional cloud sync feature for a future version of Loveter, to let you access your counter across multiple devices. If and when this feature ships, it will be strictly opt-in, we will update this policy beforehand to describe exactly what is stored, for how long, and how to delete it, and we will request any consent required by law before enabling it for your account.
6. Website server logs
Like most websites, our web server automatically logs basic technical information for security and reliability purposes — such as IP address, browser type, and requested URL — for a short retention period (typically no more than 30 days), after which logs are deleted or anonymized. This website does not use cookies for tracking and does not require a cookie consent banner, because we do not set any non-essential cookies.
7. Third parties
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies. Limited technical infrastructure providers (such as our hosting provider) may process data strictly as needed to operate the service (e.g. serving web pages), under their own security obligations, and never for their own marketing purposes.
8. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because Loveter stores your data locally on your device rather than on our servers, the most direct way to exercise these rights today is simply deleting the app or its data on your device. For anything processed by our website's server logs, contact us using the details below.
9. Children's privacy
Loveter is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how Loveter or this website handles data, we will update this page and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice in the app.
